I am very new to soapmaking and had a question about cleaning the preparation area.
I will be making products in my own home and was wondering what kind of sanitizers everyone uses. Do you buy industrial type or use grocery store disinfectants? Also what methods do you use to sterilize product containers? I eventually plan on selling/giving product out and have no idea how to ensure that the area and container do not spoil products.

The bottles I get from WSP don't need to be sanitized. That conversation came up in the forum on there. But I clean my kitchen table with bleach spray before doing anything. I also wash my spoons, measuring cups, whatever I use in the dishwasher, high heat. Bleach is my friend. :D

Thank you for the advice. I have never done bath and body before and when and if I get a batch to turn out right I dont want to worry about it going bad because of me! :D

I've been planning for a few years too.

What I did was make sure my hubby bought a dishwasher with a Sani-rinse cycle when we moved into our new place.

From what I have read, all you need to do is run the clean bottles and various implements through that cycle without soap and it is sterilized. (Someone please correct me if that is wrong).

Now all I need to wait for is some money coming in from my freelance translating business and I can start soaping again!
