That’s a really nice blue though… you may find that it turns more purple as it mellows.The cut.

Nowhere near as purple as I was expecting. It looks almost grey with hints of blue to me

I did use a negative one percent superfat (after cleaning up many prior batches they were always oily so I figured why not
) which may have impacted the color
I cut the soap (to early, I know) and it's nice. The top carried all the way through. It didn't fully gel and developed that weird red ring along the top and bottom edge that manages to make it even better.I redid my yellow challenge soap. Looks a little better this time but... Blew past emulsion to light to medium trace and had to hurry. Thankfully everything stayed fluid and nothing "broke" as the chopsticks ran through it
HO sunflower, faux seawater, .5% sodium gluconate, 5% WSP hipster, 2% sorbitol. Yellow 1% tumeric infused oil. Red 3% Himalayan rhubarb infused oil.
Used two chopsticks to swirl. Looks better than the first one I think but
And I got 2 cavity mold soaps too
The challenge soap included for comparison (forgive my ash). I like the newer one more. Still like the original too.

After two rustic batches of shaving soap I was determined to do better. ZNSB scented with black cedarwood and juniper. Colored with indigo (1tsp ppo) and 5% Alkanet root infused oil.
Oils at 95°, lye water at 110. Fragrance does accelerate so I was sorta ready. I only did two(!) 1 second SB bursts. Medium Trace was swift.
Nothing "broke" as I did the swirl but trace was not my friend.

Looks nice, @justsomeguy! Even without a naughty fragrance, my charcoal soaps always trace very quickly because the amount of charcoal I use (to get the color I want) quickly absorbs so much water. It helps a bit if I make a slurry with the charcoal and FO before adding those to my oils, and if I also use a bit lower lye concentration. Still, it's always a bit of a race to the mold.
