I was thinking of putting jojoba beads in a cp soap. Will the lye dissolve it if used at trace or should i think about using something else.

Other than putting in for color what would be the purpose of using Jojoba beads? I am new at this and see them for sale but have no idea what there usage would be for.

I've used them in a recipe that I didn't gel and with no color so the soap stayed really white and there were pink jojoba bead throughout. It was really pretty. They didn't add anything to the soap as far as feel, though. Not for me anyway maybe you would get a very light scrubby effect if you use the bar directly on your skin. It was just luck that I didn't gel those batches. Do they melt or bleed if gelled?

I love to use the jojoba beads for coloring in my soaps. I have never had them melt or bleed. Sometimes I disperse them throughout the soap, sometimes I sprinkle them on top. But my most successful use of them has been to swirl with them. Makes for a fun and easy and stress-free swirl. Just make sure the soap has a good medium trace going or the swirls will sink to the bottom of the mold. They come in all sorts of colors. You can combine colors as well. Can be a bit scratchy when the soap is rubbed directly on the skin if the beads are on the surface of the soap. I think the drying out of the surface of the soap causes the beads to be a bit tough. They are rounded, of course, so no sharp edges. Still, can be a bit scratchy.
