Thank you for hosting this soap challenge 💕@Vicki C.💕 The challenges are great for building skills. I was surprised to discover I needed to learn a few things to make confetti soap, such as percentage of batter to shreds and optimum thickness of trace to incorporate shreds. I have many more scraps downstairs, so I can get lots more confetti practice in, but I may combine with Ciagla layers.

Voting was very hard with so many entries! Such variety, sort of like comparing different types of fruit and trying to choose which is the best. I kept changing my mind based on fluctuating criteria in my brain. Loved all the soaps and the ideas that went into them!

@KiwiMoose Your soap looks lovely, and I'd love to know what Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance you used! I used to get that one from Bath & Body Works. If I could find its doppelganger, I'd be thrilled! If you don't mind sharing, please. Thank you!
Thank you but that wasn't me! lol. I did use a Japanese Cherry Blossom some years ago from Candle Science and it was lovely - so maybe try that one?

ok, well, I didn't quite make it in time to submit. I was on vacation for the last couple weeks and just got back late last night 1/27.

I made my soap this A.M. and then came home from work to cut my soap as late as possible to give soap a chance to get hard enough. But, I forgot about the time zone .... I am on the West coast- PST.

But, I was really glad I tried this confetti challenge. Even though I missed it. And plus, I couldn't find the entry thread...

My blue soap is what I would have entered. The colors are as I envisioned except the proportions are off. I meant to have a larger center section with not so much blue on the top. But, I was really scrambling and didn't have time to try to do any math , etc. The pinkish red soap is my fail. Way darker of a pink that I was going for. I intended to do a half on the diag in pink, then the other half in white. but, totally was running out of time this AM.

But, it was fun to try this new technique and get rid of scraps!
That blue soap IS gorgeous! And now I'm hearing that guy from the movie saying, "I coulda been a contender!"

Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance
I used that fragrance. To me it smells exactly like bath & body works but I wouldn't recommend it for soap. The usage rate is around 2% and it need more for it to really shine through. Would be lovely in lotion though.

Edit to add that the fragrance performed lovely no issues or discoloration just wish I could have used more for a stronger scent. I plan on using the rest of the scent in lotions or lotion bars.

Such beautiful soaps from everyone! 🥰

Who has tips for getting that perfect smooth surface for your confetti soaps? Mine are kinda bumpy, and I see what looks very smooth on many of your confetti soaps. Especially noticed your smooth soap faces, @dibbles, @ScentimentallyYours, @Mobjack Bay. What are y’all doing to get that?
I feel like it is comparable to being able to fold fitted sheets - only witches can do it LOL. I’ve got the sheets down, now I need the smooth surface confetti soap process to add to my book of spells. 😉
