Hi all !

I had some left-over oils + I wanted to check what a high-percentage CO soap would feel like with the addition of sesame oil + shea.

Here is my recipe:
- CO 55%
- Sesame 15%
-Shea butter 15%
- Almond oil 15%
5% SF
33% lye concentration
soaped at about 45°C
Covered with cling wrap and inside foam insulator.

Is it a volcano ? Is it due to overheating ?
(no tunnel or leaking inside...)

Thanks ! Have a good sunday :)

The cracks are due to overheating. A full blown volcano is quite dramatic. With that much coconut oil in the recipe, you can work cooler and not worry about insulating.

I hope you will let us know how the soap feels. Did you consider increasing the SF?
I see, thank you :)

and I thought about increasing the SF up to 7 or 10%, but because of the sesame oil I wasn't sure... do you think I could ? My husband doesn't like it when the soap feels oily, which was the case with a salt bar I made earlier (80% coconut, and 20% superfat).

Glad it wasn't a full blown volcano - I saw pictures here, and what a mess !!
