Ok once you get past the cute title i'm wondering if the lye below is acceptable to make soap with. i found it online at my local hardware store so i hope it's ok to use!!! ohand i'm a complete novice so i'm trying to gather my materials w/out breaking the bank and am wondering how you know a pot is stainless steel...i figure i can pick one up at a thrift store nearby!! http://media.mydoitbest.com/imagerequest.aspx?sku=450529&size=2&warehouse=C&newsize=600

As long as its 100% lye your fine. It looks like the ones at the hardware store they use to carry.

That lye will work. Same stuff I used.

Good stainless steel won't attract a magnet
