I got a couple of the wilton silicone baking mats (amazon) and cut one to fit in my small mold...It works great, gives a nice smooth surface. The downside is this: still had to line the mold underneath with freezer paper to catch any drips BUT I have an idea for lining a new mold.

I have three options:

1. use silicone caulk and fuse the cut silicone pieces together forming a box or
2. use silicone caulk to permanently install the silicone onto the boards for the mold (it would be a break-a-way mold).
3. lay the silicone pieces on the break-a-way mold so they form a tight seal when the mold is bolted together, allowing me to wash them off after use.

I like the idea of number 3, it would also let me replace when the silicone mat gets overused or breaks down. I think number one might work once or twice but then break off? Number 2 would make it a pain to clean.

FYI..these mats cost $12 and I ordered the 11X9 size (they are blue)

Now to build the molds and proceed!

I kind of think that ordering the silicone loaf molds from Bramble Berry would be a better choice, certainly a cheaper one.

I use the decorative Wilton silicone impression mats for fondant to line my collapsable molds with from time to time whenever I want to give a fancy, decorative edge to certain batches, and your #3 option is the method I employ. Works great for me.
