Kevin, my super sweet hubby, has patiently supported my in my soapmaking efforts for years now. He's never said a single word about the thousands of dollars I've spent on supplies, molds, packaging, all of it. He's built me molds, chauffeured me around to search for just the right tool, even joined me for coffee or lunch with a couple of other soapers, never acting board with our 'soapy talk'. However, he never took much interest in the actual process.
Today that changed! He watched me make a batch, asking questions and noting procedures, then he did it himself! He made a batch of Guava Fig, from the measure to the pour! He textured the top, added silk to the lye, kaolin clay to oils! He tucked the fresh soap into the heating table, covered it all and is now waiting for gel! I'm so proud of him! He's a soaper now!
