The last few batches have been 12 bars each. That is my idea of scaled down. How does that sound to you?

The problem with gifting is that I think it is key to know what scent a person would like. When you hit the right scent, you can see the person's face light up. I'd almost have to carry around a sample case.
I often donate to our local homeless veterans’ home. They love it and I love giving it to them!

I've made about 200 bars of soap in the last 6 weeks. I was talking to my father this morning and he asked, "John, what are you going to do with all that soap?" I had no idea what to say. What AM I going to do with all that soap?? And I have enough raw materials to make 200 more.

Are any of you in a similar predicament? I LOVE making soap, but do I have to face reality?

I have a box of soap that didn’t make the cut for sale, so next week I’m donating it to a church for the ‘household’ section of their Food Pantry. I have another small box of soap that will be heading to the homeless shelter once I pick up some more wash cloths from Wal-Mart

As for match the scent to the person...do a ‘sample’ box. Cut a bunch of bars in half and give everyone a ‘6-pack’.

You are obviously an industrious person. Is your fascination for soap in the making or in the art? Ask yourself why you make soap. If art is the answer, maybe make big blocks to sculpt. Maybe invent new techniques to expand the community skills. If it’s in the production of volumes, why not teach others to make and sell their soaps. If it’s altruism then give it away. Seems that you have a lot more in your heart and spirit than just making soap.
