There is a saying in the quilting world that goes "It's not a mistake if you can't see it from ten feet away" or "on a galloping horse" , etc. You get the idea. Most people would not be able to spot a mistake in the first place. I looked at the pictures first and loved the irregular line. I'm one who does HP and mostly does the plop and glop method, I've never thought of doing a mica line. Now that just might be my next trick when I soap. It comes out looking so cool. I sure as heck won't tell anyone that it's a mistake. except maybe other soapers.! I love the soap.
 
My understanding is that a 100% Olive Oil does take longer to trace. If I'm doing a single color soap, I don't worry about trace...just emulsion.
