I had a ton of different soaps that I wanted to make for Christmas gifts. I'd made a few batches but time flew & suddenly it's November 1st! So today I went into a soap making frenzy! I got to my last batch & something went adding with my color. Instead of the gorgeous purple-blue I had created, my color turned charcoal gray when I added it to my goats milk batter. I didn't mind, the scent was a heavenly dewberry & if I decided not to gift it then I'd have a oddly colored stash just for me. What I can't believe I did was, I made more soap than I had molds for! Caught up in the euphoria of soaping, I failed to realize that I had run out of molds & here I was with a tub of charcoal gray dewberry soap! I panicked for a second, then I saw the empty crafters choice oil bottles that were waiting to be tossed. I grabbed them, ran to the kitchen counter & cut the tops off! Then I rushed back to my work table & filled the bottles plus a couple of dixie cups with soap batter! Had anyone else ever gotten carried away like that when they were soaping?

Lol, I'm ordering back up molds with my next supply order just in case I get lost in my soap world again!

I cut the lower three or four inches off pepsi bottles for girlie shave soap. I've used plactic sandwich tubs. I have been saving a few small boxes just in case. I feel your pain. lol Once I put a walmart plastic bag in a bread pan. You can do the same with a cake pan.

My laundry room is where i soap. Its filled with empty bottles, boxes, containers and cups. its starting to look more like a recycling center than a wash room, lol. but my fav right is an empty dannon yogurt container makes a nice round tapered soap. Good thing you think fast on your feet!

Great ideas ladies! I just came across an empty cardboard box today in my pantry that I thot would make a nice size mold & I always have tons of plastic shopping bags on hand! I think I'll go line the box with a couple of bags now so I'll be ready if I ever run into that situation again! Glad to see that I'm not alone when I get lost in soap! :D

I'm thankful for my mom in this part, she brings me all of her milk cartons, so I have overstock....but I see a big batch in my future, so I better stock up!

I got a lot of great ideas for molds from the "what molds are you using" post! I wish I could find an old chest of drawers. I'd use every other drawer as a slab soap mold!
