I a person chooses to go into business as a manufacturer, and people pay for said product, some will be happy, some not so. That's part of being in business.
Everybody has a right to pass along their opinion of this product based on their personal experience. It's called freedom of speech, and you take the good with the bad. I bet if another member was on here praising his products to the heavens he would have no problem with that. I believe that the comments made related to the product, not the person selling the product. See the difference?
There was nothing inflammatory, rude, slanderous or malicious about the comment/s made regarding this product. It was one members experience, and dissatisfaction.
BUT for the business owner to make a personal attack on a previous customer (I believe the moulds were bought through a co-op, so obviously somewhere along the line, someone else was less than satisfied, otherwise they would have held onto them) is extremely rude, inappropriate and unprofessional, and speaks tonnes about their business ethic.

LJA and Oldragbagger -
That is fair enough
I = hand smacked! :D

With reference to critics hiding - I know that there is even a photo of my face on here somewhere and I post my successes and ideas regularly - I do however admit that I dont post my failures! :roll: Maybe I'll post a pic of my Incredible Gunk soap soon. :shock: BE WARNED - could cause severe trauma!

Ok, kiddos, when I have time I'm going to come back and edit out the juvenile garbage posted in this thread.

For now it's locked. Seriously cutting into my harvest time.

Alright, i just wasted about 20 minutes deleting a few posts that were not helpful & just added fuel. I deleted a few adjectives that were a bit harsh & flat out did some moderator comments in blue.

We have the right to complain, but in a civil fashion. We have the right to stand up for ourselfves, but in a civil fashion.

DO NOT EGG PEOPLE ON.

DO NOT MAKE PERSONAL STABS.

DO NOT ASSUME THAT BECAUSE YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENT INVOLVES PASSIVE AGRESSIVE COMEDY IT'S OK.

For future referance... if you have not bought the item in question... your comments are probably not relavent & not helpful.

I mangae children's theater productions in my town, the kids are always telling each other what they should be doing or how they should be acting... the rule of thumb I make them follow is... to think before you speak. What they are supposed to consider when thinking is... "will my comment be helpful? If not keep your lips buttoned" the same realy should apply here.

Anytime there is a locked thread or a public moderator action we get a handful of convoes.

Please note: When a moderator makes a decision, it is based on what you see on the forum, assorted emails, assorted convoes and history. You do not get to see the 'whole picture'. Most of our mods have knows many suppliers for 5-10+ years. They have also know many of the members here for 5 or 10+ years. We have generally seen the same problems w/ the same people over & over at multiple forums over the years. So while you may think something is unfair, or someone has over reacted what you have really witnessed is a problem being nipped in the hind end before it becomes a cancer to the forum.

In addition, the soaping community is very tight knit, believe it or not. There is strong competition, but there is also a strong 'family' type bond. Mods network, not just on this forum, but between forums. If a forum has a problem w/ a particular member or a particular supplier, they are liable to give a heads up to the mods on other forums so we can be on the look-out to 'nip it in the hind end'.
