Hi I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knows the requirements for labelling the weight for each bar of soap to sell at markets in Australia? Do I need to buy a trade approved scale? Or can I simply label a weight much lower than the actual weight to be on the safe side? If anyone can help I'd be much obliged. My head is spinning at all the hoops I have to jump through just to be able to sell at the local markets!

I don't live in Australia and I am primarily a hobbyist, not a business. That said, I correctly label my soaps. Because soaps lose water weight over time, I label as "at least x amount" with a comfortable margin for error. I don't know what's required in your market, so take this with a grain of NaOH.

Thanks for replying, Judy. I think I will do the same and put a weight lower than the actual amount just to cover myself. Cheers!
