If soap has become too hard you might want to try a miter or table saw. Yes, I would try that myself, once. I have been known to hit a knife with a hammer when no other tools were available. Kinda hard on the knife, but it worked.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

I purchased a plastic miter box and 6" wide paint scraper from Lowes (Home Depot has them also). Makes nice straight cuts, no muss, no fuss. Put the block in the miter box and slice & dice with the paint scraper. Easy peezy.

I have one of those in my garage and probably a wide scraper somewhere. Have to look around in the danger zone today when I get home.
Bless you and your high level of common sense.

Daimond, if you get one of those you can use a hand saw instead of a power saw or knife and hammer.

For another 10 bucks you can get the one with the saw.
