Hi,

I am kinda fresh on the scene of soap making as a business. I have enjoyed doing it for some years but have decided to try to make my hobby fund itself, and maybe a small vacation. I am a little worried that sales may be low since there are so many of us out there. Does this seem to be a problem for you?

Also, I was talking with a friend yesterday about this and she posed and interesting question. How much soap ( the good kind that we make, not massed produced stuff by proctor gamble) do you think is made a year?

Hello and welcome! :D

I can't answer your questions because I don't sell and I don't have any idea how much handmade soap would be made in a year.

Welcome to the group :) I honestly don't think that having a lot of hand made soapers out there decreases sales for others. Not if your soap is good, your customer service is good and you collect a good following of customers.

I total agree with Genny. I live in an area with 20,000 people and 4 soap-makers. We all do well...

And by the way - welcome aboard!
