How much patchouli and vanilla

I am making a soap batch from 1 kg oils, how much of the patchouli would I need for a pleasant smell not a "stinky over the top did you drop the whole bottle in there" smell. I was thinking about 2 parts vanilla and 1 part patchouli but both of them are pretty strong so I am not sure about 0.7 oz per pound as I have read here. Should I maybe use a little less?

Im looking forward to a reply too on this as Patchouli is a new and much loved scent for me.
I m hoping to add it to a soap too shortly but as I havent used EO's in soap as yet, it will be interesting to learn more about it first.

It's from the body shop, I'm not sure, I think it is real.

For my Patchouli Vanilla I always do 1 part Patchouli to 2 parts Vanilla as Patchouli is one of those scents for me that I have a love hate relationship with. It smells dirty to me but also has that earthy smell that draws me to it, adding the vanilla takes out the dirt smell for me.
I've found that the patch overbears the vanilla if I mix them half and half.

Ok, wouldn't that be a very smelly vanilla pathouli soap? or maybe the soap will lose some smell over time...

I like my soaps strong smelling, but yes it will mellow a bit during curing and more over time.

i really like patchouli, though don't know how it would smell soaped. i've smelled patchouli candles (yankee) and really didn't like that patchouli smell. i like the deep, rich, sweet patchouli smell.

in this case, how would y'all mix it?

btw, soapyewe hit it on the head, about it mellowing, too. i've got a couple that 6 weeks ago were stronger than hercules, and now are pretty weak.
