Hot Process only 1 hour???

I recently started adding extra water to mine (in a really non scientific way) and that did help with molding and some color mixing attempts. I just ordered some SL to see if that will help further. I really like HP but I wanted to get things a little smoother. I will report back as to my results with SL.

I recently upped my water from 38% to 45% and that really helped. I don't mind bumpy tops when I do a log mold, but when I do a tray mold, they just look a little gnarly.

I think people cook it until it looks "done" I like to cook mine until heavy trace and then just put it in the mold. I love to cook it until gel phase for my beer soap. I like the rustic look

If you put it in the mould at trace then it is CP, not HP....................................

I believe that I hot processed mine too long when I did it. Because it came out smelling oily. Almost..... Well not very good. Even when I scented it. So I've stuck away from hp. Maybe I cooked too long, or soaped too hot. This was a few years back and I haven't hp since.
