I have had my head so deep in information on soap making, and this board has been a huge part of my research. As helpful as all of the posters have been, I thought it time I ought to pop in and say hello and stop being so lurky

I'm Liana, SAHM to 3 little girls (6, 4, 2)...I have a small cloth diapering business and hope to add soaps to that in the near future. My interest began with the desire to be more self sufficient making something useful, more cost effective and more NATURAL!!! But, the entrepreneur in me can't help but consider it a possibility for a bit of a financial cushion as well. Thats what motivates me to learn all I can about this craft

It certainly seems like you have your hands full at home! Soapmaking can be a wonderful hobby and more. It's a great feeling to create something useful with you own two hands.

So, after much scouring, perusing, and intense thought, I have changed my entire motivation for soapmaking as well as decided on a new course for my future :shock:

I have decided to make LOTS and LOTS of pretty, smelly soaps for the exclusive purpose of cleansing family and friends. I have also decided to quit crafting for money PERIOD. I am officially unemployed, looking forward to soaping and sewing for personal use only as well as going back to school to finish my degree in Criminal Justice so that I can test for a CSI position once all of my littles are in school (could be a while, dh and I decided last night we needed one more itty bitty to complete our family - wish us luck!) ...I also plan on becoming efficient on my Nikon D90 to further my future career, but more importantly to take amazing pictures of my kids...and of course, my soaps

So there you have it, from a relative stranger....I just poured my indecisive heart out to you. Thank you all for the inspiration, information, and good company that I have found on this site.

To answer 1 question, I have NOT made a single batch of soap yet :shock: I have all the supplies sitting on my counter, taunting me...and after over 2 months of researching, I think I am finally ready to jump in (off character for me as I usually have no problem jumping RIGHT into things...there was just something about this endeavor...).

And one last note - I find it hard to post anything here as of yet. So far, every. single. subject or question of mine has been covered in depth - the search function and I have become sweet friends

I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!
