I have a simple lotion recipe that I'd like to add some Isopropyl myristate too, any recommendations on amount? What would I sub it for or is it a separate additive?

This my recipe. I'm out of dimethicone so I just add in a bit more oil.
67% water
3% glycerin
13% oils
5 % butter
3 % stearic acid
5 % ewax
1% fragrance
1% preservative
2% dimethicone

Your recipe looks ok to me. Typically, I use emulsifier around 20-25% of the combined oils & butters, but it really can depend on the type of emulsifier you are using.
I have used thickeners at 2% to 3%, but I rarely use them in lotion anymore. To me, they really don't improve the skin-feel of the lotion. If I need it to be thicker, I'll reduce the water amounts.
