Hi everyone.....

My name is Hina and I am new and not so new to soap making. This art truly fascinates me and I can't get enough.

I've recently shifted my entire life from Pakistan to Canada almost 6 months ago (my husband is a Canadian born) and we are expecting our first baby together.

I really started to get interested in soap making once I left my job more than a year ago. Unfortunately I couldn't get most of my soap stuff into Canada due to custom restrictions etc, though acquiring chemicals and essential oils, lye and fats from Pak was easier and way cheaper, but those are the breaks.

I am now "building" my stash, so to speak to start my soap making venture here and with my darling husband's help will be starting pretty soon. I want to add that my husband is the biggest fan of my endeavors and most of the soaps I ve made so far have been commandeered by him to use now and in the future.

I ve not been part of a soap making forum before and I am excited to talk to fellow enthusiasts and learn more about this wonderful craft as well as DIY skin care.....

Cheers

Hello and welcome from another Canadian. Just so you know the Soap Guild is now offering Canadians membership with insurance for only $500 a year. Once you start looking around you will see how great this is!

What part of Canada are you in?

Hello Lindy and Hazel,

Thanks for the replies.

I am currently situated on Vancouver Island, Youbou to be exact.

Which part of Canada do you reside in Lindy?

Cheers
HC

Hello!

Hello! Hina and Welcome to the forum.

I am glad I found your post. You have mentioned that finding soap making ingredients were easy in Pakistan, unfortunately that's not the case with me. Can you please share the details of your resources for Essential Oil and Chemicals? I'll be much thankful for that.

Regards,

Qasim Quaid.
