Does anyone know of any good places to look?
Go to the Beginner's Forum and look for the Sticky "Beginner's Learn to Soap on Line." Lovin' Soap Studio is a good place to start for learning the basics. David Fisher's Site is chock full of recipes with pics, and yes, he has an oatmeal soap and instructions for HP as well as CP.

I say this often, as I truly believe it is the best way - go back through ten pages of these sections:

Beginner
Lye based
Recipe feedback

Look particularly for anything about recipe advice. This is because you will not only find a lot of great recipes, but also the reasons why they are good and why any bad recipes are bad. When a suggestion is made, most people explain why they suggest it, which means you will learn very quickly how to formulate your own recipes instead of just needing a recipe, or how you can take a good recipe and tweak it to make it better for you

I will do that. Thank you :)

Lots of good reads here, thank you.
Nice to see all the different oil combinations people use.
So much info, it's a bit overwhelming :) but I need it. It's learning from others with experience. Comparing successful recipes with my own and seeing the differences and understanding it all.
Wasn't expecting this much to learn when I started learning about soap. too late to turn back now though, lol. Still climbing that hill, but with each step, i get a little closer to the top. Great to have a community like this to help me along the way.
