I’m using a goat milk m&p base (Our Earth’s Secrets) and I want to make a soap with Lavender, Sandalwood, and Lemon Eucalyptus EOs.
Do you guys think it would be a good fragrance combination? Its main thing is to help repel mosquitoes. Any advice is welcome and appreciated!

I don't know how well a mosquito reppelent would work in a rinse off product. One of the best repellents we have used is the original Skin So Soft lotion from Avon.

@MadronaByTheS3a, I agree with LSG, I don't think soap would be very effective for this. I used to make a body oil for a friend for this purpose. It was a long time ago, but as I remember some kind of light carrier oil (nowadays I would probably use meadowfoam or abyssinian) and eo's like citronella.

I just did a quick google search and was interested to see that a couple of respected sources (Nature and NIH) had study abstracts showing that clove, cinnamon, and patchouli had the highest rates of efficacy against mosquitoes, although when I quickly skimmed the articles - I did not read them closely since I'm not making the products - it seemed like the usage rates in the studies exceed the (very low) IFRA MURs for cinnamon and clove.

An easy way to judge how they all smell together:
Put a drop or two of each EO on on a cotton ball or small piece of paper. Close it up in a Ziploc bag and leave it for a little while. Then, come back and see what you think of the combo. Add more drops of the scent you would like to be a little stronger and check again.
