After looking at the lovely dipped soaps, it brought to mind mirror glazed cakes. Now I want to "glaze" some soaps.

Light trace cp for the glaze? What about m&p? Would it even stick? I think I wanna try. Sit my bar on a shot glass and glazed away.

I made the soap in my avatar using the mirror glaze technique for a Soap Challenge Club entry. You want to blend (stir) a slow moving recipe just to emulsion and use a high lye concentration (I think I used 45% lye concentration) to avoid ash, which can still happen. Elevate your soap and spray it with alcohol before you pour your glaze over it. Set your soap in a silicone lined slab mold or in a shallow-ish box lined with a plastic bag because there will be a lot of soap running over the edges. It is messy and fun, although I haven't done a glazed soap since. If you search for mirror glaze soap technique on YouTube you might get a few more videos to pop up. I know that Amy Warden has the challenge tutorial available for purchase on the soap challenge club website if that is of interest to you.

Good luck and post pics!

What trim tool? I didn’t see one in that video. 😊
Different video of a round pull thru. She used a trim tool that left a beautiful edge

Thankyoufor the tips!

I wonder if it’s this or something similar. @Mobjack Bay - isn’t it you that has this?

I have that Wild Plantanica soap router. It's economical and fun to use, but it is nothing like the one that Oh Yvonne uses in that video (and sells, btw.). Hers works really well with round bars, something the WP router doesn't do. Of course, it's many times more expensive, especially with shipping from Hong Kong. :)

Do you have a link to where Yvonne sells the equipment ? I've never been able to find it. HK is only a hop step and a jump from here.

The person who told me she was buying one from Yvonne is no longer on SMF. I'm not positive, but I believe she reached out to Yvonne through Facebook or Instagram. Those accounts for her are listed on her YT page.

So, she is in Taiwan, that's what I thought from watching her videos. The link Basti gave me said it was $185 USD, that was in covid, then there is postage on top of that depending where you live. I think it would be more now with exchange rates and it's 3 kgs in weight, which would cost a fair bit.
Thanks both for looking for me, I've been watching her videos for a while now and love her perspex moulds and covers she puts them in overnight.
