Made goats milk yesterday and put it in the freezer...
After taking it out, the soap becomes sweaty and now I have crystals on top, which I will rinse of later on.
Every time I freeze soap, that happens.
I know it is normal to have condensation building, but it is annoying,it ruins the tops :(

Do you cover it with anything?
I've only put mine in the fridge, so I have no other advice except covering it LOL

I have read on previous posts, to put it in the freezer for an hour then refrigerator for 3 hrs? I have only made 3 batches of milk soap, the first 2 volcano'd and the last one I did this way and it worked like a charm

What do you use to cover it? I was concerned that some materials would stick and make the top look worse.

I have had loaves soaped at low T (~95F) in the freezer for 3 hours and fridge for 12. Still, partial gel. I am growing to like it now.

I cover mine with plastic wrap. But I guess it would matter what kind of mold you're using on whether a cover would work or not.

I didn't cover at all..I had it in the freezer for a few hours an the rest at room temp. It's funny, it's been 24 hrs. and I have just noticed, the soap in the mold gets warm.I think no matter what, milk soap gets warm anyways....
I just rinsed the condensation off.
I usually cover my soap in plastic wrap after the soap hardened a little, to make sure the top doesn't get ruined.

Yes, it's normal and it will happen if you don't cover it.

If you're concerned about the cover ruining the top, you can always cover it after it's frozen, just put it and the mold inside a big plastic bag or improvise something to keep the plastic from touching the soap.
