FO Shelf Life?

I've decided on what will be my main scent for my personal shower soap. (BBs Wasabi) So I'm going to buy a big bottle of it, but the question is how big? If it takes me a year to use a pound of scent is that a problem? Do they deteriorate over time? Assuming good storage - sealed, cool, low light, etc.

If you store them in dark amber glass in a cool, dry cupboard out of the light, you'd be surprised how long many of them last. I'm still soaping with some of my FO's that are at least 4 or 5 years old and they are still fine. I store them in amber glass away from heat and light. That's not to say that they will all keep as well, though. For example, my 4 year old Blue Sugar FO from TSW has seemed to have lost some of it's former glory. I soaped it a few weeks ago and although it smelled great OOB, it lost it's former sparkle in my CP. That's the only oldie that has done that to me, though.
