I have only done a few batches of soap so far. I generally only make it as needed so I usually have a lot of time between batches. This one was the first one I tried with adding color. Wanted to do some kind of swirl in it but I think the batter was too thick. Either way it still looks pretty good I think.

Your soap looks great! Please don't set it on metal pans, however, as that tends to cause DOS at the very least. Even stainless steel pans are not immune, as the stainless coating is often degraded by the high alkalinity of fresh soap, which then exposes the soap to the other metals below it. Worse yet, if those happen to be aluminum pans, that will cause a dangerous reaction with any remaining NaOH.

Do you have any shelving liner or freezer paper that you could use as a barrier between the soap and any metal (or wood) surfaces?

Thank you, and thanks for the warning, moved it off the metal yet.
