Hi All, I've been look around the site for a week or so now and thought it was about time I said Hello. So hello!!

I've made soaps for family just thinking about moving into it as a commercial venture. I thought that I could perhaps do with extra support from people with more experience.

I have been making MP and some CP soaps.

I now have my safety assessment in place to produce and sell CP.........but that was mainly to cover me giving to my group of 'testers' who are family and friends who are willing to try my products out.

So, hopefully at some point in the future my products will be out there on someones bathroom shelf!!

Im a Specialist Nurse in the U.K and love all things crafty!!

Take care

Hello,

Welcome to the forum!

How long have you been making CP? We really like to encourage people to test their soaps over a period of time. You want to make sure that your recipes and fragrances hold up over an extended period of time.

Here's a link to a post about being ready to sell. You'll find it interesting since you're considering selling. :D

Thanks for the welcome!

I have been making CP and MP for about 1 year, but I must say more MP if I'm honest.

I have mostly been following recipes from books and online.

I wasn't thinking about going to market just yet - it's a bit too much of a scary world with all the legal and tax issues to consider. I wanted to join the group to build my knowledge from experts.

My mum has done an aromatherapy course many years ago to aid in the massage therapy she does, so she has been helping me out with EO info as I have just used fragrance oils. I think you need to have sound knowledge to use EO.
The use of EO and how that works for my family friends is where I am going to need practice, I think.

You may see a link to a web at the end of my post, but it should not be accessible - it's mainly my hobby horse at the moment!!

Thanks again.

I agree. I started using EOs about 3 years ago without really knowing much about them. I basically learned as I went and the more I read, the less I used them.

Your mom is a massage therapist? Oh, you lucky, lucky person. Color me green with envy. :D
