I'm sorry, it was probably my drumroll above that got you too excited. They still look awesome though.

MMhmm, you ARE a tease. Oh, I see you did post them after all. They look good, and I hope you have learned that patience is a virtue. Or they tell me. :thumbup:

Don't you just LOVE how every slice are all different! Nice job! Next time go for 3 colors :)

I've had better luck getting a good black color with a mix of charcoal and black oxide. The cleanup of both is almost enough to make me give up. I hate using disposable plastic but I broke down this week and bought some plastic spoons to use when I make black (that dang Debra's zebra has me hooked) and I'm going to use plastic cups to mix it. I think your soap looks great, but in my experience if its gray when you cut it it just gets more gray in time. That might be a pH thing or something so maybe yours won't.

On another note - how addicted is DW that he's checking in on the forum on his long weekend out of town? (As addicted as I am!!!) :)

It's the evils of an iPad. It follows you everywhere.

Others have more experience with ac but I'd go no more than 1/2 tsp per lb and that's only for the lbs you intend to color, not the whole recipe.

<facepalm!>

This makes total sense. I of course colored for the whole batch... UGH.
It'll be interesting to see how it performs. At least I know to expect grey bubbles and lather.

</facepalm!>

I've done the same with fragrance...as my father would say..."stunk like a wh%#e in church." It's all about the process. I learn something from every batch. (My sincerest apologies to any wh%#es out there. :wave: )

I've been using just over a 1/2 tsp per pound and getting a dark gray but clear lather, just wondering where the tipping point was. This stuff is messy :)
