Made my first ever batch of soap with lard and am very pleased! I’ve had a lot of issues with soap seizing and finally figured out it was a bad batch of coconut oil, and I read here that lard makes for a very fluid batter, so I dove in. Wanted to keep things simple, so I just used olive oil, lard, and (new) coconut oil, with cocoa powder, brown oxide, and coconut shell powder for colorant. Fragrance was Bramble Berry’s Dirt. Used the BB 22 oz mold for this small batch and had a tad left over. So far, so good! Can’t wait for the cured bars.
