Same! I was 12 years old when Mt. St. Helens erupted, and I don't live too far from it - a couple hours to the north. However - we never experienced the ash haze! Very little ash fall. Because of our location, the winds blew it the other direction. It was a sunny, clear day at my house!Would someone be willing to open a thread in the general chat as a place to put down these Mt. St. Helen's stories? I am fascinated by eye- witness accounts, and would love to hear ALL the stories! It could be a history and science lesson for the whole family! I was less than a year old when it happened, so I don't remember anything about it.
