I generally make my soap in the crock pot. After the "cooking" is complete, I try and let it rest a few minutes and then add the FO to the mix before moving it to the mold. Typically, my house ends up full of a wonderful aroma, but not enough of it makes it into the soap. I figure the problem is the FO is evaporating when it hits the soap batter. So, two questions:
1. Am I right here?
2. What would fix this problem? Would mixing with 1 oz of a superfatting oil and then mixing that into the batter help?
I have the same problem when I make CP soap, but it seems that everytime I do make soap CP, it gels. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using a wood mold or not. Advice on getting the scents to be more stable during the first 24 hours would be appreciated.
It does seem that whatever scent stays in the first 24 hours lasts...it's just getting to to stick around initially that's the problem.
Thanks for the tips in advance, as always, you guys are so helpful!
