Essential oil vs. fragance oil

Mariceli - you said that you didn't have the whole amount of EO needed so subbed FO. Since neither EO or FO are used in the calculation for the lye amount, are you sure that the recipe wasn't your problem, not the EO/FO combo? Have you made the same recipe before that turned out ok? I asked because my first few batches were made with all liquid oils and took FOREVER to trace.

First of all thanks so much for all the input. I have been making soap for a short period of time. It turned out that when I reorder the lye I got the wrong kind. I got the right one and added the FO before the lye and stir it just a bit with stick blender and keep stirring with a spatula which slowed trace and gave me time to work wit the colors. It turned out great!
