I have been making small embeds with the leftover soap from each batch
lately. So I have a dozen or so little hearts & stars. I would like to use them
in a slab mold, placing a heart or star in the top of each bar.

How do I get the embeds to stick to the raw soap? Is just "snuggling" them
into the textured top going to get it to stay when the soap saponifies around
it?

yep, just snuggle them in, but make sure your soap is still soft enough so you can push them in a bit so they stick.

i use embeds a lot, and use leftover bits to cut into gems to put on top. on a few batches they haven't stuck very well. wondering if one could make some simple 'glue' or 'icing' out of, i dunno, confectioners sugar, to stick them back on?

what do folks use to stick embeds or other decorations on soap?

I've been putting soap embeds in and on top of soap by either
gelling the soap well (like CPOP) or with CPHP i just cover the
tops with plastic wrap while hot and let it gel that way so the soap
and embeds fuse together.

Works so far but I havn't done really huge ones or intracate
patterns.

Sometimes I've seen people use non-soap embeds on top
by kinda snuggling them in under a bit of soap or even
using a bit of M&P to act as "glue".

I want to try using embeds with my cpop soap. The embeds are ones that I made using Bonnie's recipe from Edentia Farms. Do you think they will melt too much and just become blobs instead of the cube shapes that I am planning on doing? I would put them in the middle of the soap as I am pretty sure they will just ooze all over the top since they are basically a melt and pour type soap.

This is what I do, and it has always worked for me.
