How can I prevent DOS spots to appear? I will try with BHT and Sodium citrate but I dont know if they wll work and which is the best concentration to use. Thanks

The only ways I found to be effective against DOS is
1. Use fresh oils.
2. Store finished soaps somewhere dry and cool, preferably with good ventilation.
I've tried Vitamin E and such but frankly the only things worked for me were the above two.

There is no way to guarantee you won’t get DOS. I do add ROE to all my oils when I open them and proper curing and storage do help as well as making sure all your utensils and equipment are clean. Also using longer shelf life oils and butters help and not having too high of a superfat.

Thanks!!!!! I have bought ROE I will try then

I learned from this forum to add ROE to my oils and citric acid to my recipe. Another tip is to keep your combined linoleic and linolenic values to below 15. Lucky you living in a nice hot country, but even here in cold damp Scotland I keep a fan aimed at my soap in summer and I am also considering buying a dehumidifier. I hope you solve your issues:thumbs:
