First, thank you very much, both of you, for taking the time to reply.

@ stinkydancer, I love your name by the way.

My scale shouldn't be off, all other batches of soap I have done have come out fine. I like your idea about checking the fragrances. I tried to register for the fragrance review board, which I saw in another post this a.m., but they won't allow you to register if you have free email?! Not sure who pays for email these days.

This problem is definitely something unique to these batches.

@ la-rene

I defunately see what you are saying about the FO in the oils conflicting with the lye. That is one of the only things I do different on these batches because I know I'm dealing with FO that accelerates trace. I actually read somewhere to add the FO to the base oils to buy more time and to be able to work with a more predictable batter.

I will try adding them at trace next time.

Thank you.

Usually who ever you pay to get your Internet thru will also have email. This is who I used. It's considered a paid email.

Adding the FO to the oils does technically buy you more time as well as soaping with full water or close to full water and room temp lye and oils helps as well. If I work with a tricky FO I do add it to my oils as well. Adding at trace can sometimes bring about ricing depending on the FO.
Try it at very very light trace and hand stir after you add the FO. Pour it when the soap starts to get thick.

You can sometimes find reviews at the FO suppliers website as well.

Good luck on those tricky FO's. I usually HP something I know is going to go funky. The hard part is finding out it's going to go funky, especially those FO's that work well for everyone else but you. I love those.

Thanks for the compliment on the name. :) My daughter named me that. LOL
