Hello Soapmakers - I hope it is okay for me to ask for help here.

My name is Brooke. I don't make soap but I have a gift shop in Central Pennsylvania and I have a good customer who wants to purchase crystal soap like these for her wedding:

http://i.themaniamania.com/international-shop/curiosities/soap-smokey-quartz

I did find a soapmaker who makes these but she isn't taking on any new customers because she is too busy to fill all her orders. I asked her if she could recommend someone else but she did not know anyone who makes these in the crystal shapes.

She suggested posting on soapmaking forums to see if I can find someone. When I googled, guess what came up, soapmaking forum, who knew!

Anyway, I would need to purchase 300 crystal soaps for a wedding that is taking place in July. I am hoping to find a price better than $30.00 a bar which is what the mania site is selling them for, that seems rather high based on the similar soaps I am finding other places. These are unique so I realize I might have to pay a higher price than those more common soap rocks but the crystal shape and smoky quartz color is the important part.

If anyone can help or suggest a soap maker or company please let me know. my email is [email protected]

I have seen the ones from TS Pink company but those are not real crystal shape or subtle colors like the ones from Mania Mania.

Thanks for you help. I appreciate you consideration, if this isn't an appropriate place to request something like this, please excuse my asking.

Brooke

I believe the originator of this style is somebody who goes by soapsmith and I think she calls them gemstone soaps.

Thanks, Judy, for the suggestion. I think that is the lady I was talking to, she lives in PA, too. I found her on google.

She makes these but she can't take any more large orders until Fall because she sells them to big department stores like Urban Outfitters and has them coming up on TV, I think QVC or something like that. She said they order several thousand soaps each time and she makes them one at a time so she has no room on her schedule. She is the one who suggested I check on soap making forums.

This bride and her hubby to be are both in the geology/gemology field so this will be perfect for them. I found some that might work on Etsy but she really likes the simple crystal ones on the mania mania site. I thought I would try to find someone else who does them before we settle on something similar.

It is worth a try!

Thanks Carolyn, I will check your email.

I want to thank those who have helped me in my search.. You are a wonderful group. I have found two good leads so it looks like we have success. And to those who also sent me emails with links to soap makers, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, they are the lady I mentioned in my first post. She made the soap for Mania and is too busy to take more projects.

I hope you all have fun with your soap making, thanks again!

Brooke

PS if I am ever in the market for more soap, I will be sure to come back to you all - you're GREAT!
