In the days when people actually did hand drafting, you could get huge "D" size sheets of mylar. With the advent of large format printers, this mylar even came in rolls for use in drafting printers. (A size is 8 1/2 x 11 inches, B size is 17 x 11, and so on). One side had a matte finish for drawing with pencil or ink and the other side was usually shiny. I don't know if drafting mylar is an extinct animal nowadays, but it would be perfect for larger molds.

"...not sure, but does not say heat resist...."

The product description in the link actually does stay it is -- might want to re-read that.

Also Irish Lass and I are giving you the benefit of our personal experience with the mylar sold for quilters. In my experience, this product is sufficiently heat resistant and chemical resistant for use with soap making. Doesn't that count for something?

But speaking in general -- A lot of things we use for soaping are not directly labeled as safe for use with strong alkali or heat or whatever. So sometimes you have to do some extra digging to get that information.
