Disinfect utensils

Hi All
I am fairly new to soap making. I have a question to ask which may sound pretty stupid to you seasoned soap makers but I hope you could help me out. I notice that all the books say we have to disinfect the utensils we use. My question is how do I disinfect? Is ordinary soap and hot water good enough?

Hi, I am pretty new to soap making as well, but I will tell you what I know! I use a seperate set of utesils, dishes, everything, and then when I am done I wash all the dishes and utensils in water and soap, then I use vingar to thoroughly remove any traces of Lye. I wouldn't use the same utensils and stuff you use in your kitchen if you are making lye soaps. Well... I hope this helps! If you have any other questions you can post them here.
