Difference in lye?

I get my lye from Essential Depot. I just got the 32 lb special they have running. I have plenty of lye to soap with don't have to worry about having to track it down at the last minute. Shipping is a bummer, but it is convenient that they bring it to me, and i don't have to use my gas to run around town to get it.

It's hard to come by in Iowa also. Lowe's has it for $17something for a 2-pound bottle. Feh. I finally bought 6 bottles from The Lye Guy - if you buy 5 32oz bottles, you get the 6th free. It was under $50 for the 6 bottles, and I just cracked my 3rd one after several months. Very worth it IMO, and his packaging is top-notch.

I agree! He is also close to me and ships fasts, also I don't have to wait. Plus I have noticed his lye beads don't have the tendency to fly away when you poor like some brands I have used.
