Put all those buttons that shirts come with in there! I have such a hard time finding those 5 years later when one falls off.

I love refinishing old furniture. The downside is that everybody gives me all their stuff because they feel better not throwing it away, so my house is sort of packed, lol. And then I have a nasty thrift store shopping habit on top of it.
Soapy, I keep all my buttons in a mason jar. Don't think I've ever used one, but the collection sure looks pretty

saltdog, that is a brilliant idea. I have mine in a corner of a drawer in the little baggies they come in. They would look so much better in a little jar! I have never used one either. But I have a favorite pair of pants from 5 years ago that lost the button, I still have it and need to sew it on. It pays to save them.

For some odd reason, i can never throw them away. I take them out of the little bag and just add them to the jar. Weird because I've never really thought about it before, I just automatically add them.
They would proly look cute in a nice little glass dish, too.
Good luck with your pants, I am so not skilled at button repair, if I really need something fixed, I give it to my mom :wink:
