Me: Those shields on the fancy scales look like a pain to have to move for every tare. I don't want that on the new scale I'm going to buy.

In my early days of soaping, I spilled essential oil on my scale. It looked like an acid spill. Now I have my scale inside a gallon plastic baggie which makes cleanup a breeze.

Huh. Wonder if I could lightly shrink wrap my scale to keep it from being marred.

You should see my scales after 10+ years of use. I never had the patience to cover them due to the amount of soap I would make. My scales earned their "battle scars".

****, my soap scale is mostly stainless steel but I understand the pain when I accidentally dripped resin when doing resin crafts. Those little droplets will haunt me forever hahaha.
