Hello! I have made a lotion bar loaf, using a wooden soap mold. I thought I would be able to slice this loaf into bars using my guided soap cutter, but as the metal slicer goes throught the lotion bar, the lotion bar breaks in half across the middle. I have tried heating the blade, which did not work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to cut a lotion bar loaf successfully?

I third remelt and repour, but the only other option I can think of would be trying something thinner to cut, like wire. The kinds that are used for cheeses or clay might work. Even really strong fishing line might work.

I use a muffin pan for my lotion bars. It works beautifully. Re melt and repour.
Cheers!

I agree with the others. All but my very softest lotion bars would be too brittle due to the beeswax to cut under normal circumstances. Heated thin wire would be the best option if you're bound 'n determined to cut them. But molds work so very well for this product.
