I think I am a big fan of using lard but I will know for sure in 4 weeks. In the meantime I am really happy with how they turned out. The red, white and blue is 50% lard and the red one is 50% OO

Beautiful colors! I am liking lard, too.
The lard gave me extra time to make multiple colors. It also seems like the colors are brighter and I didn't put the lard through a gel phase either. I did the cherry with 50% OO, so I took detailed notes and photos and I want to see how they progress.
They look great Todd.
Thanks, I am so glad you suggested the lard!

Great great job, love the bold colors! You did an in-the-pot swirl?
The cherry was a ITPS but the flag wasn't. I wanted the blue to be front and center, for personal reasons, so I poured the red so it would cover the bottom. Then I poured the white and did the same. With the blue, I let it get a little thicker, then poured it so it would push the other colors out of the way. Then I took a wire and pulled it through the soap so that I didn't have 3 separate colors stacked on top of each other, because I was going for a melting pot theme with the blue representing the ocean as well as the flag.
They look great. Love the vibrant red and blue in the flag.
Thanks, I really like vibrant colors and I have been using this app which really helps me make the colors that I want. I love bright colored flowers and next week I am going to do a soap with the colors of one of my favorite flowers, zinnias.
