I am stumped. I saw this on the back of my leg while I was at a yoga class. I never felt any itching or burning, but I wonder if a drop of soap batter got there somehow, or if I might have touched it with a finger in a glove with raw soap on it. It's in such an odd place though - the bottom of my calf muscle. It

If it was from lye, you would know it. I'm not going to say for 100% percent certain that it's not from lye, but it would most likely take a direct hit from a solution and not just raw soap, to do that kind of damage... and you would feel it in a bad way.

Agreed with SoapTrey. I got a lye bead stuck in the material of my sock once and didn't realize it. At least, not until I sat down at the counter and pressed the top of my foot to the back of the cabinet, and thus, the lye bead on through my sock and up against my slightly sweaty sock covered foot.

I knew immediately and there was no dismissing that sensation. I am rather glad it was just the one tiny bead!

Thanks. I'm sure it wasn't from straight up lye solution. Every time I have had batter touch my skin, I've always felt a bit of itching. So I didn't think it was that, but it's also not a bug bite and even though I am a bit of a klutz, I would think I would remember if I did hit it hard enough to do that. Another mystery of my life I guess.

Any animals? My cat scratched my ankle the other day and part of the scab looks identical

I have a dog, but it isn't from him. Self inflicted, I am sure. Just didn't hurt, so I didn't realize it at the time.

A few months ago I had a beautiful, ginormous bruise blossom on the inside of my thigh just above my knee. It started with a small painful knot under my skin and over the course of a couple of days, spread to an impressive size. I could not cover it completely with my hand.

I have no idea how I did it.

You are in good company.

I have an identical one on my shin. I have absolutely no idea how I got it! It definitely wasn't lye.
