Hello all!

I find myself joining a soapmaking forum because I've had great experiences with other forums in the past for my current hobbies - and because I love talking with others who know the trades I'm in/want to be in.

I raise dairy goats, and as a side profit I'd like to make goat's milk soap to sell - as well as other vegetable based soaps for sale at farmer's markets. Soapmaking was suggested to me by other dairy goat raisers, who claim it to be an excellent way to help make a profit or make the goats pay their way on the farm. Not to mention, I'm really 'into' the homemade/homegrown way of life.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hello and welcome!

How lucky you are to have a place to raise goats. If I tried to keep goats, I'd have an angry mob bearing torches outside my house late at night. (And my mother would be at the front leading the pack.)

Sorry to hear that - goats are wonderful! I'm 20, but I've already dedicated about 8 years to my hooved children, as well as the rest of my farm. The goats were the only animal I have that are pertinent to soapmaking, LOL...

Thanks for the sympathy but it's not a problem. I don't make goat milk soap anyway...at least not yet. :D

I've made coconut milk CP and I really like the creamy lather from it.

Welcome to the forum. You will learn a lot here! I sure have!

Before you get started keep in mind that soap making is VERY addictive! They should have a warning before signing up here  Just kidding. It is a lot of fun though!

I do make a salt bar with goats milk in it. I just LOVE it!
