Hmmm,

Well somewhat sorry to say it but I'm yet another Australian newbie (the welcome list has a disproportionately high number of us!).

Me? 40, male, purely doing this for domestic use (no commericial aspirations etc).

I tend to be a little be 'Aspy' (as in Asperger Syndrome) so get very intensely interested in a particular hobby or subject area though it can tend to fade - at present knocking out a few batches of half decent CP soap as my amusing pursuit.

I've read quite a few soap making books and also trawled through a few forums but IMHO there's no substitute for active participation in expert forum and hence here I am. Am very much of the measure twice, cut once school of though so want to do all possible to assure myself of a good result rather than jump in an end up with 3yrs supply of laundry soap!

Have put together a reasonable sized wooden mold, believe I have most of the oils etc needed for several batches though have a few questions to ask the learned sages that grace these parts but just wanted to quickly say hi and thank you for allowing me into your lil sanctum.

Much thanks in advance,

Nick

Welcome! I'm sure you've heard it said before but don't be surprised if soap making becomes a bit like an addiction! My advice is to find an area where you will cure and store all your soaps. Do this now and whatever space you think you will need, double it. Good luck to you.
