I buy my olive oil ("pure olive oil") at Costco and it is usually clear. When I brought a bottle home the other day, however, I noticed that it was somewhat cloudy. It is still cloudy now even though I do not keep it in a cold place. When I researched this, I found that it olive oil is cloudy when unfiltered and it is perfectly fine to use (in the kitchen).

I am wondering if cloudy olive oil would affect soap making. I use over 40% oo in my recipe.

I had the same thing happen with a batch from WalMart. It looks disgusting, but I don't think it made a bit of difference to my batches. I used it all. It is just ugly.

jarvan, did the oil just look ugly in the bottle or did it affect the appearance of your soap?

i saw a gallon of oo at target with some sedimintaion on the bottem, i didnt buy it,but heard its fine?
