Hi all,

Does anyone know the ratios for Chefs Quality Pomace from Restaurant Depot? Its an extra virgin olive oil/ pomace blend. Thank you!

Since the SAP of both types of olive oil is almost the same, along with the supposed qualities of the finished soap (hypothetically, according to what we have in the calculator's database), I wouldn't worry about that too much. I use a similar blend and always input it as just pomace.

If it's out of concern when it comes to labeling and the order of ingredients - I don't think mentioning the exact type of olive oil used is a must, just olive oil should be enough (I may be wrong here though, it's just a speculation on my part and someone else may chime in and say otherwise, I'm curious).

Either way, it would be really hard to practically impossible for someone to find out the ratio (unless the manufacturer stated it somewhere, on the label or on a website). If you really must know maybe you can get in touch with them and ask? HTH

👍

I use whatever I get on sale and never had any problems.
Just some olive oils add more green tone to the soap than others.

Just wanted to add for you to check the ingredients list to confirm that they only use olive oil or a blend of olive oils, and not different oils blended with olive.
Good luck with your soap!

Oh yeah, there are some blends on the market mixed with sunflower oil or something else... Haven't bought those, I hope at least they label the ratios properly.

And I envy those who use other types of olive oil for soaping 😆 - I really like the greenish hue they give... I use only pomace (the rest are too expensive) and it's quite light in color

You brought me so much relief! Thank you!
No problem, happy soaping!
