What does dandelion bring to the balm ? I just feed it to the rabbit, but knew it to be a diuretic, I know arnica is for bruises.

I made a balm with dandelion and arnica infused into sunflower oil, plus beeswax, CBD oil, and EOs. It works pretty well for soft tissue pain.

@Zing watch out, you will be running to the loo all day. 🚽

From what I read, dandelion also helps with pain. My husband has some arnica tablets that we found at a natural-type grocery store here that are meant to be taken internally. He says they actually help!

I agree that arnica is fantastic for bruising and soft tissue pain.

I haven’t heard that dandelion helps with pain, but I’m not surprised. Isn’t it related to calendula?

They are related. Here’s what NFW says about dandelion:

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) may be vilified by those who seek a perfectly green lawn each spring, but it is an important plant in a multitude of beneficial ways. The flowers are enjoyed by a variety of pollinators and insect life. They are also a good source of lecithin, and when infused in oil and turned into salves, lotions and creams, act as a mild analgesic (pain reliever) and healing agent for painful, chapped skin. The plant tincture stimulates the liver and has been known to clear acne and eczema when taken internally over time. It has also been studied for its cancer-fighting potential. Traditionally, dandelion sap has been used to treat microbial or fungal skin infections along with acne and warts.

Pretty big Vitamin C source. For a green plant, it's almost a superfood.
