I made this with a dark beer replacing all of the water. I simmered it awhile to concentrate the sugars. No scent added- it smells of yeast so far. It's about 2 weeks old.

Yes, Holly- my first funnel swirl. My dh held the funnel. We noticed that as the soap rises in the mold, and the spout of the funnel becomes submerged, the new layers are being added from the center. In the meantime, the soap is thinkening :(

The next batch, we kept the funnel above the rising soap level. We don't like the results as well.

Thanks, Honor- I like this one too. I was going to take a photo of my second beer soap & I dropped the ball.

For this one, we kept moving the funnel up as the mold filled. You can see that we ended up with a series of "smiles".

I like the first one much better. I used a dark honey beer, so the color contrast was much greater.
